There will be pink all over the field on Sunday at Gillette Stadium as part of Breast Cancer Awareness day. Moss wore his pink gloves at practice yesterday, while other players such as running back Laurence Maroney [stats] were waiting for their pairs to arrive.

“Cancer affects everybody in some way,” Moss said in a press release. “If I can do something to help people out, to raise awareness and help raise money – well, that’s what it’s all about. I want to make a difference.”

Cutters Gloves began giving away pink football gloves last season, and it caught on with the players. This year, Arizona Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin, Baltimore Ravens wideout Kelley Washington and others will join Moss.

The NFL gave special permission for the players to wear the equipment, which will eventually be auctioned off to raise money for cancer research.

Tom Brady’s return is the biggest story and hides a lot of questions

For years in Boston, there has been a debate about whether Bill Belichick is truly a football genius, or whether he simply stumbled into late-career greatness by selecting Tom Brady in the sixth round of the 2000 draft. After last year’s 11-5 bailing-wire-and-Elmer’s season without Brady, I tend to think that quandary has been resolved. The Patriots probably had no business even thinking about the playoffs with Matt Cassel at their helm, but they fooled all Pats fans into believing that the team’s season didn’t end 20 minutes into the ‘08 season when Brady’s knee went snap.

NFL Network recently ran a piece on the top 10 clutch quarterbacks of all time. Obviously, Peyton Manning’s name was nowhere to be found, and Tom Brady sat happily at No. 3.

He of the three Super Bowl rings, all of which were won on the strength of his final scoring drives, and the potential fourth ring that slipped away in the final minutes of Super Bowl XLII, got a huge nod from Joe Theismann when he said, “Up until just recently, I felt that Joe Montana was the greatest quarterback that ever played the game; I now reserve that right for Tom Brady.”
